A direct descendant of the Merv han family, who now lives in Mary, told the correspondent of "Turkmenportal" about his intention to transfer the glasses of his great – great-grandmother, Guljemal-han, to the Museum.
"According to legend, these glasses were given to my great - great-grandmother by the Russian Tsar, and after her death were passed down from generation to generation," he says.
Guljemal-han (1836-1925) – one of the women rulers and warriors who went down in the history of Turkmenistan due to their wisdom, courage and high authority. After the death in 1880 of her husband, Akhal han Nurberdy, she played a major role in rallying the Tekin people.
