Berdimuhamedov discussed with the head of “LUKOIL” the possibility of implementing joint projects in Turkmenistan

Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the head of PJSC “LUKOIL” Vagit Alekperov during a working trip to the Balkan velayat.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to discuss the prospects for cooperation, the guest stressed the high interest of Russian business, and, in particular, the largest oil company headed by him, in further expanding partnership with Turkmenistan.

The President of Turkmenistan noted with satisfaction the traditionally friendly and constructive nature of the Turkmen-Russian relations, which creates favorable conditions for the steady strengthening of business ties in key areas.

One of the most important areas of mutual interests of the two countries recognized as world energy powers is the oil and gas industry, the development of which, taking into account the huge resource potential, is given special importance.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities of implementing joint projects and long-term cooperation on a cost-effective basis for both sides.

Introducing the head of state to LUKOIL's activities in the development of hydrocarbon fields in the Caspian Sea, the businessman stressed that the favorable investment climate and reliable legal framework created in Turkmenistan help attract investment from foreign business circles in the development of oil and gas fields and the construction of related infrastructure.

Expressing LUKOIL's interest in actively participating in large-scale transformation programs successfully implemented in our country, Vagit Alekperov stressed the company's readiness to provide the Turkmen side with the accumulated experience in increasing the capacity of the mining and processing segment, developing the gas and petrochemical industry, and producing high - tech products that are in high demand on the world market.

In conclusion, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the head of Russia's largest energy company exchanged good wishes and expressed confidence in the successful continuation of the fruitful partnership, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
