The cotton harvest has started in Turkmenistan. An important agricultural campaign started today in the Akhal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary provinces. Taking into account the soil and climatic conditions, the "white harvest" in Dashoguz velayat will be launched on September 16.
According to the State news Agency of Turkmenistan, today at the receiving points and ginneries Gokdepe etrap of Ahal velayat, Halach etrap of Lebap velayat, Sakarchage etrap of Mary velayat and Serdar etrap of Balkan velayat were the first caravans of cars and tractors with trailers loaded to the brim "white gold".
According to good tradition, the beginning of the feast was blessed by respected elders. Representatives of velayat and etrap hyakimliks, departments of the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection, the state Concern "turkmenhimiya", the Main state service "Türkmenstandartlary", the state commercial Bank "Daikhanbank", daikhan associations, public organizations and industry research institutes, leading agronomists, experienced combine harvesters, drivers and tenants-cotton growers took part in the events on this occasion.
As part of the celebrations, exhibitions of agricultural machinery, agricultural processing and textile products were launched. On behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the best cotton farmers who have grown a good crop of cotton were presented with valuable gifts.
In accordance with the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, this year the acreage allocated for cotton has been expanded to 620,000 hectares. In the spring, they were sown with medium-and fine-fiber cotton varieties "eloten-7", "Dashoguz-120", "Dashoguz-144", "Serdar", "S-4727", "eloten-39", "Jeyhun", "S-2606", "eloten-14".
Private producers of agricultural products that have received plots from the special agricultural land Fund also participate in the cultivation of this crop.
In General Turkmenistan is planned to collect 1 million 250 thousand tons of "white gold", including in Akhal province – 280 thousand tons, Balkan velayat – 10 thousand tons, Dashoguz velayat – 275 thousand tons, Lebap velayat – 320 thousand tons in Mary province – 365 thousand tons.
1 thousand John Deere-9970 cotton harvesters and 500 MX-1.8 trailed cotton harvesters are involved in harvesting, and 2 thousand trucks, 2 thousand 370 tractors and 3 thousand 714 tractor trailers are used for raw material transportation.
Round-the-clock technical and service maintenance of the operated equipment is organized on-site for the smooth operation of the cotton harvesting conveyor.
157 harvesting points and 39 cotton gins have been prepared to receive the new cotton crop. In their laboratories, specialists of the State service "Türkmenstandartlary" will provide a thorough quality control of incoming products.
Cotton growing is a significant branch of the agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan, which provides a significant contribution to the implementation of State programs for the production of import-substituting products and to increase the export opportunities of the national economy. The natural and climatic conditions of our country are favorable for growing medium-fiber and fine-fiber cotton varieties.
With the modern organization of production based on innovative technologies, natural cotton fiber is the most valuable raw material for the domestic textile industry, whose products are in high demand on world markets.
