The XXX Winter Universidad, which was supposed to take place on January 21-31, 2021 in Lucerne (Switzerland), will not take place on the scheduled dates. This was reported to “Turkmenportal” by the International student sports Federation (FISU).
The winter Universidad is the largest winter multi-sport event after the Olympics.
The new date of the winter Universidad will be determined within two months.
The program includes ten sports disciplines that will compete in seven event venues. Students aged 17-25 from more than 540 universities in 50 countries are expected to participate in the program. In total, more than 2,500 people will take part in the program.
Switzerland once hosted the second winter Universidad in Villars-sur-Ollon in 1962.
In 2019, the winter Universidad was held in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk.
