A briefing on "Neutral Turkmenistan: a pledge of peace and prosperity" was held in Tokyo, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan. This is reported by the website of the International conference" the Policy of Neutrality and its role in ensuring international peace, security and sustainable development".

The event was attended by Chairman of the Japan-Turkmenistan Inter parliamentary friendship group from the Japanese side, member of the House of representatives of the Japanese Parliament Endo Toshiaki, head of the Secretariat of this Group Matsushita Shinpei, as well as a number of representatives of the Japanese Parliament, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Japan and media representatives.

Speaking at a briefing, Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Japan Gurbanmamet Elyasov spoke about the uniqueness of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and its role in promoting international cooperation. It was noted that peace, equality, non-interference in the Affairs of other States, non-participation in military blocs, and implementation of mutually beneficial cooperation are integral components of the policy of positive neutrality.
