At the initiative of the society of Turkmen culture (STC) "Mekan", a series of excursions around the city and its nearest suburbs has been organized for Turkmen students who are studying in St. Petersburg. This is reported in the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".
This tradition was born several years ago: during excursions, our compatriots get acquainted with the wonderful historical monuments, recognized masterpieces of culture and architecture of the city on the Neva.
Excursions that made a special impression on students have already been held in Tsarskoye Selo, accompanied by professional guides.
Even now, throughout August, representatives of our country will be able to get acquainted with the rich historical and cultural heritage of Russia, as STC Mekan plans to organize more than one visit to the sights of St. Petersburg and the nearest cities and suburbs.
The society of Turkmen culture "Mekan" was formed in 2003 with the purpose of preserving the cultural traditions of our people and supporting our compatriots and students studying at universities in St. Petersburg. The STC is a branch of the Humanitarian Association of world Turkmens in Saint Petersburg and the North-Western region of the Russian Federation. Dozens of events were held under the aegis of its activities, including jointly with the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation.
