The state customs service of Turkmenistan has introduced a pilot phase of the electronic document management system, as reported on the official website of the customs authority. The project is implemented jointly with ES “Asman oky”.

"During the first stage of the project, this system was installed, configured and launched. As practice shows, the system creates an opportunity for rational organization of office work and significantly reduces the time of work, which will have a positive impact on the analysis and management decision — making," the report says.

Recall that from January 1, 2020, the state customs service of Turkmenistan fully switched to electronic customs Declaration using the ASYCUDA World system. The system automatically processes 16 million customs declarations per year.

The state customs service of Turkmenistan was established on November 4, 1991. The work of the service is divided into several areas ― collection of customs duties, statistical reporting and analysis of cargo flows, and others. The structure of the institution includes velayat customs offices with posts that deal with internal and cross-border road, rail, sea and air transport.
