A personal exhibition of artist Vladimir Gladkov "Far and near" has opened in Minsk, the website reports rg.ru.

Vladimir Gladkov is a native of Turkmenistan, born in 1947 in Tashauz (Dashoguz). He received his art education in Tashkent. In 1988, he joined the Union of artists of the USSR. Since 2002, he has been living and working in Minsk.

The exhibition of works unfolded in the Minsk gallery "University of culture", where fifty works of the artist introduce visitors to the color of Asia: Eastern architecture, bazaars, domestic scenes and portraits.

Many of the artist's works are in private collections in Australia, Belarus, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Japan.

His works are also shown in the Caelt Gallery in London, in the Museum of the history of the great Patriotic war in Minsk, in the historical and cultural Museum-reserve "Zaslavl", in the Museum of the World ocean in Kaliningrad.

Last year, the artist transferred 32 paintings depicting the Aral Sea to the funds of the Museum of the World ocean. The value of this series of paintings is that they are written from nature, while the sea itself has ceased to exist.
