The Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan reports that according to recent amendments to the Federal Law "On citizenship of the Russian Federation" is repealed, paragraph "A" of part 1 of article 14 of this Law, "Acquisition of Russian citizenship on the territory of Turkmenistan adult person is one of the parents is a citizen of the Russian Federation".
From July 24, 2020, this rule will be the basis for acquiring citizenship in the territorial bodies of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia by those persons who permanently reside on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship by stateless persons and minor children remains unchanged.
