Issues of interaction in the field of conservation and breeding of forests were discussed at the online meeting by specialists of the Department for coordination of international environmental cooperation and projects, the forestry Department of the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection of Turkmenistan and employees of the forest service of the Ministry of food, agriculture, forestry and fisheries of the Republic of Korea.
The meeting was organized with the assistance of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Foresters of the two countries discussed prospects for cooperation within the framework of the provisions of the intergovernmental Memorandum of understanding signed during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in to Turkmenistan in 2019, compared positions in the field of environmental protection, exchanged views on the conservation of natural resources and conducting joint scientific research in the format of an inter-country forestry project.
Domestic experts introduced their Korean colleagues to the priorities of the state environmental policy, told about the specifics of the activities in the field of forestry, plant introduction and gardening in arid climate.
As a result of the meeting, the areas of application of efforts were specified, working issues were resolved, the State publishing service of Turkmenistan reports.
