The online seminar on cultural human rights was attended by representatives of the Mejlis, several ministries and departments, the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the Institute of state, law and democracy, the hyakimlik of Ashgabat and the office of the Ombudsman. This is reported by the state news Agency of Turkmenistan.
The webinar, organized by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for human rights, included an introduction to the international legal framework for the promotion and protection of cultural rights, the activities of relevant UN agencies, including the Committee on economic, social and cultural rights, as well as the Special Rapporteur on cultural rights.
As noted, our country closely cooperates in this direction with reputable organizations, expands interstate humanitarian ties, and creates all opportunities for the realization of cultural rights of representatives of other nationalities living in Turkmenistan.
