The President of Turkmenistan expressed his condolences to Japan for the victims of the floods

The President of Turkmenistan sent deep condolences to the Emperor of Japan Naruhito and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe on the numerous human victims, injuries, and great destruction caused by large-scale floods and landslides that occurred in the country.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on behalf of the people, Government and myself personally conveyed words of sincere empathy and support in this difficult time, victims’ families and wishes speedy recovery to the injured, told the news program "Watan" Turkmen television.

On July 8, heavy rain hit the island of Kyushu in southwestern Japan. In Oita Prefecture, two rivers overflowed their banks. As a result of heavy rains that caused flooding and landslides in southwestern Japan, 57 people were killed and 17 are missing, the Interfax news Agency reported, citing local media.
