Today, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting on the results of the country's foreign policy activities for the first half of this year, which was attended by heads and employees of the diplomatic service of Turkmenistan.
Voicing the main achievements of the country's foreign policy, the speakers stressed the high level of interaction between Turkmenistan and the countries of the region and within international structures.
The extended presentation of the main aspects of the country's environmental diplomacy was one of the important points of the meeting. A report was presented on the promotion of the new Caspian environmental program initiated by the President of Turkmenistan during the first Caspian economic forum on August 12, 2019.
It was also said about the important contribution of Turkmenistan to the promotion of the goals of the International Fund for saving the Aral Sea, in particular, to improve the environmental and socio-economic situation in the Aral Sea basin. The importance of enhancing cooperation within the framework of the Regional environmental protection program for the sustainable development of Central Asia (CA EPR) was noted here.
The issue of our country's accession to the Nagoya Protocol of the UN Convention on biological diversity on the regulation of access to genetic resources and the fair and equal sharing of benefits from their use was highlighted, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
