In view of the current situation in the world economy, it is necessary to take a responsible approach to the preparation of the draft State budget for 2021, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at an expanded meeting of the Government on the results of the half-year.
Speaking about the State budget for the upcoming year, the Turkmen leader stated the importance of the consideration by the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the draft main financial plan of the country.
"According to the relevant Decree, the State budget for 2021 should provide for an increase in wages, pensions, student scholarships and state benefits, as well as a number of other social benefits, and it is necessary to lay funds for the construction of housing for the needy in each etrap and city," Berdimuhamedov said.
Addressing the Vice-premiers, the head of Turkmenistan instructed together with the heads of accountable structures to strengthen the work on further development and improvement of the financial situation of the ministries and sectoral departments under their supervision.

Among the long-term goals, we identified the creation of appropriate conditions for maintaining stable monetary turnover and macroeconomic stability, accelerating the pace of increasing the volume of exports of domestic products and the production of import-substituting goods.
Noting the need to ensure the formation and proper management of labor resources, the head of state ordered to keep the focus on issues related to the labor market in the economy. Having identified the modernization of the national statistical system as one of the most urgent directions, the President of Turkmenistan instructed to review the reporting forms.
Then the President of the country signed a letter on sending the draft state budget for 2020 in a new version to the Mejlis for consideration, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
