Turkmenistan took part in the "C5+1" meeting

Another online meeting of the foreign Ministers of Central Asia and the United States in the "C5+1" format was held, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports. 

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of State of the United States of America and the foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

One of the main topics of discussion was the settlement of the situation in Afghanistan and the development of joint mechanisms for expanding cooperation in various sectors.

Deputy Prime Minister and foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, speaking, outlined the position of Turkmenistan on the Afghan problem. He stressed that the Turkmen side supports cooperation in multilateral formats aimed at strengthening political and socio-economic life in the neighboring country in a peaceful way and is ready to use the necessary political and diplomatic potential of the country in this regard. In this context, the importance of using the UN platform was noted.

Various aspects of increasing mutual investments, infrastructure, transport and communication, social and energy projects of regional significance were also discussed during the meeting.
