An online meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Turkmenistan Ole Johan Bernoy and special representative of the Norwegian foreign Ministry for Afghanistan Per Albert Ilsaas was held at the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Confirming the similarity of positions on the regional and international agenda, the parties discussed the main areas of cooperation within international structures, in particular, the UN.
The importance of timely political consultations and maintaining ties between the foreign ministries of the two countries was noted, as well as positions on countering the global pandemic were outlined.
Turkmenistan's contribution to promoting peace and stability in the entire Central Asian region was highlighted. Norwegian diplomats were informed about the initiatives of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to establish peace and stability in neighboring Afghanistan, create the necessary conditions for the successful socio-economic development of the IRA.
Opportunities for trade and economic cooperation and establishing contacts between the business communities of the two countries were discussed. Aspects of cooperation in the fields of education, health, science and culture were also touched upon, according to the state news Agency of Turkmenistan.
