Today, the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation had a telephone conversation, during which Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his birthday.
As noted, Russia highly appreciates the efforts of the head of Turkmenistan aimed at strengthening the traditional cooperation between the two States.
According to the Kremlin's press service, after thanking for the congratulations and good wishes, the head of Turkmenistan stressed the importance of the Victory parade held in Moscow on June 24, which was attended by Turkmen military personnel.
In the course of the conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that Turkmenistan sincerely values friendly relations with the Russian Federation, which, thanks to the mutual desire of the parties to expand fruitful ties, are filled with new content from year to year. Our countries are United by long-standing good-neighborly ties and historical commonality, which have formed a solid basis for interstate dialogue at the present stage.
In the course of the conversation, it was noted that the high level of mutual understanding and trust established between Turkmenistan and Russia creates favorable conditions for the further development of strategic partnership, which is built taking into account mutual interests. In this regard, they noted the constructive nature of bilateral cooperation in the political sphere, including within the framework of authoritative international organizations, and first of all, the UN, where our States provide mutual support to each other.
The Turkmen-Russian trade and economic relations are showing positive dynamics, and trade turnover is growing, which is greatly facilitated by the effective activities of the joint intergovernmental Commission. There is a huge potential for implementing large-scale projects in the energy and transport sectors, as well as for deepening educational and, in General, traditional humanitarian and cultural contacts.
At the same time, it was stressed that Turkmenistan and Russia find a common denominator on all issues of bilateral cooperation, which is a clear confirmation of the constructiveness of the interstate dialogue, the availability of favorable prospects and opportunities for the systematic development of mutually beneficial partnership in various areas.
During the conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also wished President Vladimir Putin a successful all-Russian vote on amendments to the Constitution, the results of which will undoubtedly serve as a guarantee of further dynamic socio-economic development of the friendly country, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Earlier, the head of the Russian state sent a congratulatory telegram to the President of Turkmenistan.
