The need to activate mutually beneficial partnership was discussed today during a telephone conversation between the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and his counterpart from the people's Republic of China Wang Yi.
The parties discussed a broad agenda of bilateral relations. A special topic of the talks was the intensification of mutual support between Turkmenistan and China within various regional and international organizations.
Topical regional and international issues were also discussed, including the consolidation of joint efforts to counter the new type of coronavirus pandemic. The diplomats noted the importance and relevance of the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan to create a Council of medical scientists to organize and conduct effective timely joint work in emergency situations. In view of complex global situations, the popularization of effective mechanisms of scientific diplomacy is becoming relevant, the foreign Ministers noted.
In this regard, Mr. Wang Yi stressed the timely adoption of the national plan to ensure Turkmenistan's preparedness to combat acute infectious diseases and take rapid response measures, which proves its commitment to cooperate with the international community in strengthening peace, security and stability at the regional and global levels.
The sides paid special attention to the resumption and activation of meetings between representatives of the public and private sectors of the two countries against the background of the pandemic, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
