A ceremony of laying flowers at the monument of Makhtumkuli Fragi was held in Ankara

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Turkey organized a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Makhtumkuli Fragi, installed in the Park "Turkmenistan" in Ankara. This is reported by the website "Turkmenistan: The Golden age".

The ceremony was held on the occasion of the Day of workers of culture and art, as well as poetry of Makhtumkuli Fragi, celebrated in our country.

The ceremony was attended by chief adviser to the President of Turkey Yalchin Topchu, Deputy Minister of culture and tourism Nadir Alparslan, as well as representatives of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Ali Kaan Orbay and Ashkyn Chakmak, Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Bilal Chakyji. 

The event was attended by ambassadors of several countries, representatives of the Parliament and various departments of Turkey, famous writers and public figures, members of the Turkmen-Turkish Friendship Society, the Turkmen Diaspora and students, employees of the Anatolian news Agency, TRT TV channel and other mass media. 

During the ceremony, the speakers noted the humanistic message and the great importance of the work of the greatest Turkmen poet and thinker, a brilliant master of artistic words Makhtumkuli Fragi for the development of national culture and understanding of the mental values of the Turkmen people. In this aspect, the importance of cultural dialogue and popularization of historical and spiritual heritage is emphasized.

Emphasis was also placed on the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality status, which was twice recognized by the UN and enshrined in its multilateral documents, as well as our country's contribution to ensuring global peace and progress.

The Park "Turkmenistan" and the monument to the Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli in Ankara was opened in 2012. The creators of the new monument are Turkmen sculptors under the leadership of the people's artist of Turkmenistan Saragt Babayev. The height of the monument is almost five meters.
