Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan and Ambassador of Canada discussed issues of long-term cooperation

During the online meeting held today between the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada with residence in Ankara Ashraf Hohar, various directions for establishing long-term cooperation between the two countries were considered.

The parties considered the possibility of interaction in the fields of trade and economy, education, preventive and water diplomacy, and also discussed issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

The importance of cooperation between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Canada was noted. The parties noted the similarity of positions on topical issues on the global agenda, which is reflected in the successful cooperation within the framework of authoritative international organizations, in particular, the UN.

The situation with regard to the pandemic was also discussed, including the search for ways to jointly overcome the current situation. In this context, the initiative of the President of our country to attract scientific diplomacy tools, including the creation of an international Council of medical scientists, was announced. The possibilities of cooperation in this direction were considered, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
