Turkmenistan and the UN discussed key vectors of cooperation

Key vectors of cooperation were discussed today during an online meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Special adviser to the UN Secretary-General on reforms Jens Vandel. 

In particular, they discussed joint actions of Turkmenistan and the UN to counteract the coronavirus pandemic and overcome its socio-economic consequences. The issues of expanding and supporting the logistics system in the fight against the pandemic were considered.

Mr. Adviser was briefed on the steps being taken in Turkmenistan to prevent dangerous diseases, including the activities of the Emergency Commission to combat the spread of diseases, the implementation of the preparedness and response Plan, and the country's accession to the COVID-19 technology access Platform (C-TAP), announced by the WHO Director-General.

The parties also discussed existing joint projects and programs and considered promising areas of cooperation in the future, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
