Delegations of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan held online talks

The implementation of the agreements reached during the last meeting of the joint Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation was discussed online today by the delegations of the two countries.

The Turkmen delegation at the talks was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hadjiev, and the Uzbek delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Ilhom Nematov.

During the consultations, they discussed the development of political and diplomatic dialogue between the two countries, and stressed the importance of regular contacts at the highest level. The diplomats voiced their mutual readiness to continue cooperation within the framework of international and regional structures. The countries ' commitment to maintaining peace, stability and security in the region and in the world was noted. In this context, the importance of the policy of positive neutrality of Turkmenistan was emphasized.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of trade and foreign economic relations of Turkmenistan K. Kurbanov and Deputy Minister of investment and foreign trade of Uzbekistan B. Abidov, who outlined the parties ' positions on improving import and export procedures between the two countries.

The two countries ' delegations also discussed prospects for cooperation in the energy and water sectors.

At the talks, a high level of cross-border cooperation was noted, taking into account the pandemic situation in the region, including the transport and communication sphere, and improving conditions for transport and transit transport.

In addition, the participants agreed to further develop cooperation in the field of education, science and culture. The issues of resuming mutual days of culture were discussed separately, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
