The need for coordinated work to counter COVID-19 and active use of scientific diplomacy tools was discussed during online talks between Deputy Prime Minister and foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of foreign Affairs and international cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan.
In the context of discussing the prospects for cooperation, the activities of the Joint Cooperation Committee were noted and a provisional date for its next meeting was set.
The parties noted the high level of bilateral cooperation, the similarity of the parties ' positions on key aspects of the regional and international agenda, and also noted the successful experience of interaction within the UN system and other authoritative organizations.
They also discussed issues related to expanding trade and economic cooperation, and noted the importance of further expanding humanitarian ties in such areas as culture, science and education, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
