The world tourism organization held a meeting on overcoming the crisis from COVID-19

Issues of establishing joint work on the resumption of tourism activities were discussed during the high-level meeting "the Path to recovery", which was held in the format of a videoconference by the UN world tourism organization (UNWTO).

The forum was attended by UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili, heads of national tourism administrations of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Turkmenistan was represented by the Minister of culture at the high-level meeting.

According to the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, this event was held within the framework of two panel discussions. During the first session, measures to support the travel and tourism sector and mitigate the socio-economic consequences of COVID-19 were discussed. The second discussion focused on best practices and effective strategies for restoring tourism activity. During the meeting, an exchange of views on ways to overcome the crisis took place. Recommendations developed by UNWTO were announced. The participants were also presented with a presentation of the best practices of the participating countries.
