Turkmenistan held talks on enhancing international cooperation in the agricultural sector

Today, the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection of Turkmenistan held online talks with the Deputy Chairman of the intergovernmental coordinating Council for seed production of the Commonwealth of Independent States, doctor of science, Professor Ivan Kuzmin.

During the videoconference, which was organized in the context of partnership with agricultural scientists from leading scientific institutions to exchange best practices, issues of cooperation in the agricultural sector were discussed.

According to the State news Agency of our country, Turkmenistan pays special attention to this aspect of interaction within the CIS. In the agro-industrial sector of the national economy, large-scale transformations are being implemented to strengthen food security and export potential.

As noted, at the state level, great importance is attached to the improvement of breeding activities, the introduction of modern technologies, the latest achievements of agricultural science in order to increase crop yields, as well as to enhance international cooperation, including strengthening contacts with relevant foreign institutions.

The partnership with the CIS Intergovernmental Coordinating Council on seed production offers a wide range of opportunities for innovation in this area. In this context, the subject of discussion was interaction with relevant research institutes of the Russian Federation.

Among the priority topics for the exchange of experience are the cultivation and breeding of high-yielding varieties of wheat, potatoes and other crops.
