"Turkmengaz" intends to produce isobutene for Kiyanli polymer plant

The state concern "Turkmengaz" plans to expand the production capacity of the Kiyanli polymer plant, according to the publication "Oil and gas of Turkmenistan".

This month, the concern re-announced an international tender for the construction of an isobutene production unit at this plant.

The production capacity of the Kiyanli complex, which was commissioned in October 2018, allows processing 5 billion rubles. cubic meters of natural gas per year, producing 386 thousand tons of high-density polyethylene and 81 thousand tons of polypropylene. The remaining 4.5 billion cubic meters of commercial gas are sent to the gas pipeline system. Currently, the polyethylene and polypropylene produced at the plant are sold on the state commodity exchange of Turkmenistan both for export and for the domestic market.

The plant is equipped with equipment from leading manufacturers in Japan, Korea, the United States, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, and Denmark. Its structure includes installations for gas separation, ethane processing, production of polyethylene and polypropylene.

The project to build the Kiyanli plant worth more than $3.4 billion. GC "Turkmengaz" implemented jointly with LG International Corp and Hyundai Engineering (Republic of Korea), as well as TOYO Engineering Corporation (Japan).
