Today, Deputy Prime Minister and foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov had a telephone conversation with Canadian Foreign Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne, the website of the Turkmen foreign Ministry reports.
During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the current situation related to the coronavirus pandemic and measures to counter its spread. At the same time, they stressed their mutual readiness for coordinated actions.
The economic and social consequences of the coronavirus pandemic were discussed. In this context, the importance of joint efforts for rapid and effective response to the challenges of our time was emphasized.
The foreign Ministers also exchanged views on the prospects of Turkmen-Canadian cooperation in the political, diplomatic and cultural spheres, noting the importance of its activation. The sides also noted the importance of increasing effective interaction on international platforms, especially within the UN, where Turkmenistan and Canada have accumulated a solid experience of mutual support and mutual understanding.
