The website of the Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan announced the beginning of accepting documents from foreign citizens for state scholarship educational programs for 2021.
Research student (post-graduate program)
- Requirements for participants: persons who have graduated from the University (including graduates of the current academic year) and were born after April 2, 1986 can participate in the program.
- About the program: The Program includes a course of necessary language training within 6 months after arrival in Japan and further research in postgraduate studies in the chosen specialty. According to the basic regulations, the training under this program lasts for 2 years, but if a graduate student enters a higher-level educational institution during this period in order to obtain a scientific degree, this period can be extended.

After carefully reviewing the terms of participation, those who wish to apply can submit their documents to the Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan by June 19 (Friday), 2020 (inclusive).

Master's student (master's program)
- Requirements for participants: persons born on April 2, 1996, who have completed a 12-year school education or who have received a corresponding education (including graduates of the current school year) can participate in the program.
- About the program: The Program includes a one-year course of necessary language training (at the Japanese language center for foreign students at the Tokyo Institute of foreign languages or at the Osaka Institute of foreign languages), after which enrollment in the institutes is carried out. The training period is 5 years (medical, dental and veterinary – 7 years, Pharmacy-6 years), but for those who have received the opportunity to obtain further education (master's degree, doctorate), the period can be extended.

A student in the College of technology (vocational and technical education)
- Requirements for participants: persons born on April 2, 1996, who have completed an 11-year school education or have received an appropriate education (including graduates of the current school year) can participate in the program.
- About the program: Those enrolled in this Program will be trained in technology colleges, as well as receive a prior course of necessary language training in Japanese. The term of study is 4 years (including a one-year course of necessary language training in Japanese). The training period for those who have chosen the specialty "merchant ship" will be 4 years and 6 months.
In this Program, you can choose from the following eight majors: (1) Mechanics, (2) Electricity, electronics, (3) Information and communication networks, (4) Materials, (5) Architecture, (6) Construction, (7) merchant ship, (8) Other.
Since choosing (8) "Other" may cause difficulties in finding an educational institution (for example, due to lack of one, etc.) in such specialties as "information management engineering" and others, please follow the points from (1) to (7) when choosing.

- Requirements for participants: persons born on April 2, 1996, who have completed a 12-year school education or who have received a corresponding education (including graduates of the current school year) can participate in the program.
- About the program: Those enrolled in this Program will be trained in specialized training colleges, as well as receive a prior course of necessary language training in Japanese. The term of study is 3 years (including a one-year course of necessary language training in Japanese).
In this Program, you can choose from the following 6 majors: (1) Industry, (2) Hygiene, (3) Education and social security, (4) Commerce, (5) Clothing, jewelry and home Economics, (6) Culture and education.
When choosing "Other", in the above 6 specialties, in such columns as: "Preferred field of specialty", "Preferred discipline", "Reason for preference", it is necessary to specify the preferred discipline accurately and in detail. However, since there may be difficulties due to the lack of a preferred educational institution, please note that there is a possibility that you will not be accepted by the educational institution or refuse to enter the educational institution yourself.
