Speaking today at the video summit of the non-aligned Movement "We are together against COVID-19", which is being held under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov called on the leaders of the countries to work on economic recovery.
"It is obvious that the agenda of the forthcoming session of the UN General Assembly will be significantly adjusted pandemic and largely focused on the post-crisis period in which the world community will have a difficult work to rebuild the economic, social, humanitarian issues. Therefore, it is already necessary to create platforms for putting the global economy on a path of sustainable growth, and the key areas should be energy, industry, transport, and trade," Berdimuhamedov said.
In this regard, the attention of the participants of the video meeting was focused on the fact that the world energy market has never faced such difficulties as the current ones.
"In these conditions, it is particularly important to establish energy supplies to world markets on fair and transparent principles, equality, recognition and consideration of the interests of States. The most important aspect of achieving this goal is the diversification of energy flows," Berdimuhamedov said.
The same can be said about transport, the head of Turkmenistan continued, stressing the need for rapid and complete restoration of transport links between countries and regions, transit corridors, and the search for new routes.
"This work will lead to the creation of new infrastructure and, as a result, to the solution of many social problems, overcoming unemployment, creating new jobs," Berdimuhamedov said, calling on his colleagues to contribute to the positive development of geo – economic processes in the world.
"The success and effectiveness of adapting the global economy to new realities depend to a large extent on the coherence and coordination of our actions," the head of Turkmenistan pointed out to the leaders of the non – aligned Movement.
The non-aligned movement was established at the Belgrade conference in 1961. It includes countries that did not want to participate in the NATO or Warsaw Pact bloc. Now the movement unites States that refused to join military blocs.
