The implementation of previously reached agreements between Turkmenistan and Japan, in particular, the implementation of joint projects in the gas chemical and transport spheres, was reviewed today by the co-chairs of the Turkmen-Japanese Joint Committee on economic cooperation, Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Managing Executive Director of Itochu Corporation, President of the machinery and equipment company Hiroyuki Tsubai. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The sides noted the high significance of the systematic and constructive dialogue between the two countries at the highest state and government levels. It was the visits and regular meetings of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, as well as the bilateral documents signed as a result, that created a solid political and legal basis for the dynamic development of bilateral relations.

The need to step up work on the practical implementation of the Road map signed in Tokyo in October 2019 was stressed.

The work of the Committee was held in the format of a videoconference.
