Today, Turkmenistan celebrates the national holiday of the Turkmen horse. On this occasion, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed his compatriots with a festive message, which, in particular, reads:
"Our horses are faster than the wind – the national pride of the people and a great value created over the centuries. That is why during the years of independence, great attention is paid to the development of horse breeding and equestrian sports in our country. The noble traditions of our ancestors are being revived again, and the Turkmen art of horse breeding is rising to new heights.
Our people, who raised horses to the level of sanctity, have always decorated them with fine products, gold and silver horse equipment. These remarkable traditions of our ancestors are successfully continued in the modern jewelry art. Riding horse games of Turkmen dzhigits, being the decoration of our holidays, leave an indelible impression on our compatriots and foreign guests.
The state creates all conditions and broad opportunities for increasing the world fame of "Paradise" horses, as well as for the development of horse breeding and equestrian sports. To this end, we have also established close cooperation with various States around the world. The construction of equestrian complexes in all velayats that meet international standards, their modernization, and improvement of housing and living conditions of our horse breeders have a positive impact on the development of the art of horse breeding in our country.
We also pay great attention to training highly qualified specialists for the industry. We are creating special training centers for professional horse breeders, seyis and riders. I firmly believe that the open arena built in the Ashgabat equestrian complex for organizing show jumping competitions will give a powerful impetus to the development of equestrian sports in the country.
The state will continue to provide great support to the development of domestic horse breeding and equestrian sports, exchange of experience with countries around the world in this direction, mutually beneficial effective cooperation, and improve the working and living conditions of our horse breeders.
Our magnificent horses, bred since ancient times on the Turkmen land and have become a universal value, are one of the elite thoroughbred breeds of the world. "Paradise" horses, distinguished by their loyalty, speed and beauty, became the pride of the people. The friendship and devoted relationship between a man and a horse are widely covered in our beautiful classical works.
I sincerely congratulate you on the national holiday of the Turkmen horse. I wish you good health, long life, family well-being, and great success in your noble deeds for the sake of improving the Turkmen horse breeding art!" the President of Turkmenistan said in a festive Address to the industry's workers and all his compatriots.
