In the Presidential Akhal-Teke equestrian complex with participation of the head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held celebrations in honor of the National holiday of the Turkmen racer, in which were held the ceremony of awarding the winners of the international beauty contest of Akhal-Teke horses, and themed competitions among representatives of creative professions.
The international beauty contest of Akhal-Teke horses, held annually in the country, is one of the main festive events in honor of Turkmen horses. It is aimed at stimulating the development of horse breeding traditions, attracting the attention of the world community to this breed as a bright component of the nation's rich cultural heritage, a unique civilizational phenomenon, and the competitive spirit only increases the entertainment and emotional intensity of events.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's car arrives at the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex. The head of state proceeded to the presidential box on the spectator stand.
On behalf of all horse breeders of the country, as a symbol of appreciation for the active attention to their work, as well as in honor of a significant event, the head of state is asked to accept a gift of selected Akhal-Teke horses.
Horses from each velayat of the country and from the capital are brought to the site one by one. Along with them, the leaders of all regions, elders and representatives of the younger generation take turns.
So, on behalf of the workers of the Akhal velayat, a beautiful horse “Novruz” was donated, from the Balkan velayat – “Hazar”, Dashoguz velayat – “Gerchek”, Lebap velayat – “Koyten”, Mary velayat – “Kovum”, and from the city of Ashgabat – “Paytagt”. On behalf of the military and law enforcement agencies, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was presented with a horse named “Edermen”.
Another gift-on behalf of all horse breeders in the country. “Toyly” magnificent steed is brought to the demonstration area, presented and given a passport.
The President of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to the elders of the velayats who took part in the festival and all the horse breeders who made a great contribution to the continuation of the glorious history of the "heavenly" horses.
“Toyly”, born in 2017, comes from the horses “Batyr” and “Sonar” and represents the hereditary line of “Gyrsakar”. The President of Turkmenistan, having tied a traditional amulet – "aladja" - around his neck, rode on a steed for a while and then directed the horse to the racetrack, demonstrating a brilliant skill in managing the horse.
According to the state news Agency of Turkmenistan, the head of state is an excellent rider and, despite a busy work schedule, tries to devote free time to horse riding and communication with horses. They occupy a special place in the literary work of the President of Turkmenistan. The head of state wrote remarkable books about the unsurpassed Akhal-Teke people, written on the basis of analysis and generalization of extensive historical material and modern data.
Taking a walk on a horse on a treadmill, the Turkmen leader tested the horse in different types of gait. Feeling an experienced, skilled rider, the horse perfectly executed all the commands of the rider, allowing the audience to enjoy its beauty, smooth and honed movements.
Dismounting to the rostrum of applause, head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proceeded to his seat.
Then the host announced the beginning of the final round of the international beauty contest among Akhal-Teke horses.
Ten best representatives of the Akhal-Teke breed selected at the preliminary stages from Ashgabat, Akhal, Balkan, Lebap, Dashoguz and Mary velayats are brought to the observation platform.
Each of them was held twice before the judges. The first time without equipment, and the second time – in a full set of horse ornaments, in a carpet blanket and under the saddle.
All the horses were presented to the jury and the public in order: name, age, pedigree data, owner. In the final of the competition, horses that continue a certain well-known breeding line, going back to famous ancestors, entered the competition.
Numerous fans of "heavenly" horses could appreciate the amazing exterior of the descendants of outstanding Akhal-Teke people who laid the main branches in the breeding of thoroughbred horses.
With a truly Regal attitude, the horses showed their external data and training, restraining an ardent temperament, conquering with chiseled lines and impeccable proportions.
So, the most beautiful Akhal-Teke horse of 2020 was declared a black horse named “Gyrsakar”, who is a descendant of “Gurden” and “Ovadan”. This horse belongs to the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex of the President of Turkmenistan. His seyis – honored horse-breeder of Turkmenistan Mammetmyrat Gazakov.
As the winner of the International competition "the most beautiful Akhal – Teke horse of the year", he was awarded the main prize on behalf of the head of state-the keys to the “Audi Q8” car.
Seyis of the horse expressed deep gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the valuable award and the great attention paid to breeding "Paradise" horses. He assured that in the future, Turkmen horse breeders will continue to work in this direction with dignity.
The names of the winners of the creative competition for the artistic embodiment of the unique natural charm and beauty of horses in art were also announced here.
The best works were selected in accordance with the categories – the most artful carpet, jewelry, the best painting and sculpture of a horse, as well as publishing products, photographs and TV shows. The main idea of this competition is to show the role of this beautiful and intelligent creature in the life of the Turkmen people.
Prizes on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were awarded to the following winners: to the carpet artist, people's artist of Turkmenistan Ada Gutlyev – for the most elegant carpet work "Bagtyýarlygyň mekany" with the image of a Turkmen horse-in the amount of 3 thousand us dollars; to the jeweler, teacher of the Turkmen state special art school at the State Academy of arts of Turkmenistan Orazberdiev Shazada for the horse decoration "Türkmenistan – Bitaraplygyň mekany" - in the amount of 2 thousand us dollars; head Department of graphics, faculty of fine arts State art Academy of Turkmenistan Parakhat Papancheva the over – painting "Parasat" – in the amount of 1 thousand 500 U.S. dollars.
Cash prizes from the head of the government Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was awarded the student of the 6th course of the State Academy of arts of Turkmenistan Patdyk Patdykov for a sculptural composition "Bitaraplygyň mekany" - 1 thousand us dollars; photographer of the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" Hasan Magadov for photo calendar "Ýüwrük bedewler" – 1 thousand us dollars; the cameraman of channel "Türkmen owazy" the State Committee of Turkmenistan on television, radio and cinematography of Alexei Kochetov for video "Ganatly bedewler" - 1 thousand us dollars.
The winners of the state awards expressed their sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for such a high assessment of their creative works and assured that they will continue to popularize Turkmen horses widely in the future.
The final part of the celebrations were musical performances by popular artists. Then the head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov warmly said goodbye to the participants of the celebration and left the place of the event.
