Today, the foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan held a meeting via videoconference with experts from the International Road transport Union (IRU).
Turkmenistan was represented by the heads and representatives of several ministries and departments of the country, including the State customs service, Mejlis, Central Bank, Agency "Turkmenawtoyollary", “Turkmendemiryollary” and “Turkmendenizderyayollary”, Turkmen Association of international road carriers (THADA).
IRU experts spoke about the best practices of countries in overcoming emerging transport difficulties, as well as familiarized with international legal documents regulating such issues. They also presented the TIR-EPD system for pre-Declaration of international cargo, a procedure for customs clearance of goods that is carried out using the Internet.
The meeting discussed issues of preliminary introduction of electronic documents for registration of vehicles and cargo imported to our country and passing through its territory in transit, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
