Today, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting with heads and representatives of United Nations agencies and specialized agencies accredited in Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the UN Permanent coordinator in Turkmenistan, Heads of country offices of UNICEF, who, UNDP and UNFPA. The meeting was held in the format of an exchange of views and in the spirit of constructive dialogue.
The participants of the meeting summed up the results of the joint work done in the first quarter of 2020, discussed the implementation of joint plans and programs of cooperation and prospects for cooperation in the coming period. Noting the strategic nature of cooperation, the heads and representatives of UN agencies expressed their gratitude to the government of Turkmenistan for its continued support.
The parties stressed the established mechanism of interaction between Turkmenistan and the UN and noted the documents that are the basis for practical activities. In particular, this is the framework program for cooperation in the field of sustainable development between the government of Turkmenistan and The United Nations for 2021-2025, signed on March 14, 2020, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
