The Asian Football Confederation has unveiled a plan to host the remaining AFC Champions League group stage matches in the West zone. They may take place in August this year, reports "Sport.kg".
Meetings with representatives of football federations were held three weeks ago in Doha and Dubai. The AFC officially informed the West Asian countries that their Champions League matches will resume only in August and will be held without traveling.
Now the AFC competition Committee will have to choose the country to accept each group and will wait for applications to be submitted. Qatar, for example, will qualify for admission of two groups, but the final decision remains for the AFC.
Uzbekistan can also try to accept one group, where Tashkent “Pakhtakor” plays. At the same time, it can become a test for the organizing Committee of the Asian youth championship.
