A new head of the Russian Maritime register of shipping in Turkmenistan has been appointed

Igor Zakharov became the head of the division of the Russian Maritime register of shipping in Turkmenistan, “PortNews” reports, referring to the press service of the Register.

Igor Zakharov graduated from the Turkmen state Institute of transport and communications with a degree in marine engineering. he has experience working in major industry organizations and companies in Turkmenistan. Since 2016, he has been working in a subsidiary of the Russian Maritime register of shipping in Turkmenistan, which is based in Turkmenbashi, the largest port on the Caspian coast. The organization provides services for technical supervision of vessels and marine structures for oil and gas production in operation and repair, as well as for the manufacture of materials, products and equipment for ships and marine facilities.

The classification society Russian Maritime register of shipping (RS, Register) was established on December 31, 1913. Since 1969, the RS has been a member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS). Main objectives: raising the standards of safety of life at sea; providing safe navigation of ships; in raising standards in the safe carriage of goods by sea and inland waterways; development of measures and standards to prevent environment pollution.

Since 1993, the RS has been maintaining and improving the internal quality management system developed in accordance with the international standard ISO 9001. Since 1999, the RS has been recognized by the European Union.
