President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited President Ilham Aliyev to take part in the celebrations dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutral status.
As part of these celebrations, an International conference "the Policy of neutrality and its role in ensuring peace, security and sustainable development" is planned to be held in Ashgabat in December this year. The invitation was issued during the high-level Turkmen-Azerbaijani talks taking place in Baku today.
The President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the presence of the head of Azerbaijan at this forum will be a notable and important event.
Berdimuhamedov also expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for supporting and co-authoring the UN General Assembly Resolution initiated by Turkmenistan on proclaiming December 12 as the International day of neutrality, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
