The OSCE seminar on mutual assessment of the Eurasian group is being held in Ashgabat

The seminar "National preparation for mutual assessment of the Eurasian group (EAG): best practices of the OSCE States" is being held in Ashgabat, the website of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

The seminar is conducted by international OSCE experts.

The event is attended by representatives of various ministries and government departments of Turkmenistan, including the Ministry of Finance and economy, the Ministry of foreign Affairs, the Central Bank and the State Statistics Committee. Participants also include representatives of the private sector and non-profit organizations.

The three-day seminar program includes a discussion of the process of mutual evaluation based on the FATF methodology (international group for developing financial measures to combat money laundering), including issues of technical compliance of legislation with FATF standards, understanding of relevant risks, transparency of legal entities and entities, and supervision in the financial sector.

Issues such as international cooperation in the fight against the legalization of criminal proceeds and the financing of terrorism, targeted financial sanctions, as well as supervision in the sector of established non-financial enterprises and professions will also be considered.

A few days ago, the President of Turkmenistan, in order to prepare for a mutual assessment of the national system of Turkmenistan by the Eurasian group on combating the legalization of criminal proceeds and the financing of terrorism, signed a Resolution establishing a preparatory Interdepartmental Commission with an approved composition.
