Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on preventing the introduction of coronavirus into Turkmenistan.

As you know, the world health organization predicts the threat of a pandemic – the spread of acute pneumonia in the world caused by this dangerous virus. In this regard, the head of state heard reports on the comprehensive work being carried out to prevent the possible penetration of this dangerous virus into the territory of our country, and also set specific tasks for further taking appropriate steps in this direction, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Extraordinary Commission for combating spread of diseases Purli Agamyradov reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that, in accordance with the special Plan, the work is focused on the strengthening of measures on prevention of infectious diseases in Turkmenistan – authorities conducted regular analysis of the situation and implemented necessary measures.

To ensure security, appropriate control and quarantine of citizens arriving from abroad have been introduced. It is also restricted, except for official necessity, for Turkmen citizens to travel to countries where foci of this disease are registered. Control over the entry of citizens of these countries to Turkmenistan has been strengthened.

In domestic international airports, in all state border zones, on sea, road and railway tracks in sanitary and quarantine points and departments, round-the-clock duty is carried out, where medical examination is carried out with the help of modern specialized equipment.

Citizens who have arrived from countries where this dangerous disease has been recorded are under the close supervision of doctors. The implementation of quarantine by specialized medical institutions is provided with all necessary equipment and medicines.

Velayat, etrap and city medical institutions have a sufficient number of disinfectants, antiseptics and medicines. Domestic doctors are provided with personal protective equipment.

Family doctors are vaccinating the population against acute respiratory diseases, and awareness-raising and preventive measures have been activated among students, schoolchildren, and children attending kindergartens and their parents. Thematic training and practical seminars are organized in medical institutions.

Also, on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, control over the import of food and consumer goods delivered from abroad has been strengthened.

It should be noted that all this complex work is being carried out in Turkmenistan in accordance with the recommendations of the world health organization and has been approved by who.

Then the Minister of health and medical industry Nurmuhammet Amannepesov made a report and said that preventive measures were taken to fulfill the instructions of the head of state. In this regard, the management centers of the Emergency Commission for combating the spread of diseases were established. In accordance with the Work plan, work is underway to monitor and analyze measures implemented to prevent the above-mentioned virus from entering our country.

Appropriate control has been provided for all types of transport, at customs points, where measures for checking cargo and sanitizing vehicles have been strengthened. Citizens arriving from abroad undergo a thorough medical examination. Laboratory samples are taken for testing at points where surveillance is carried out.

The center for the prevention of infectious diseases and the Center for public health and nutrition are fully equipped with reagents for the diagnosis of these types of diseases and consumables.

Preventive vaccination of the population against seasonal acute respiratory diseases continues. Daily reports on the epidemiological situation in the regions and the capital are compiled. Data from the world health organization is regularly reviewed. Preventive recommendations are published in the mass media, and family doctors carry out appropriate explanatory work among the population.

As the Minister reported, a dangerous disease caused by the coronavirus has not been recorded in our country.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that, based on the available information from who, which predicts the risk of a pandemic, we need to be prepared for the development of any situations in order to put a reliable barrier to dangerous infection and protect the health of our compatriots. Therefore, the head of state stressed that in order to strengthen preventive measures in the country, it is necessary to carry out systematic proper control.

It is also necessary to continue to hold regular meetings of the Emergency Commission to combat the spread of diseases, where all incoming information should be carefully analyzed, possible manifestations of infectious diseases should be considered, and rapid response measures should be taken if necessary.

It is necessary to control the visits of Turkmen citizens traveling abroad for tourist, cultural, sports and other purposes. It is also necessary to continue conducting a thorough medical examination of citizens who come to our country for similar purposes, the head of state said.

In all border points of Turkmenistan, it is necessary to continue to conduct enhanced monitoring of the health of citizens, to ensure the coordinated activity of all services in this direction, and to prevent infectious diseases – the full operation of diagnostic equipment at control points.

The President further stressed that we should continue to strictly monitor the availability of sufficient supplies of disinfectants and consumables, and pay special attention to carrying out daily relevant activities at border points, at international airports, on sea, river, road and railway transport, and at railway stations.

Speaking about this, the President of Turkmenistan also noted the importance of broad awareness-raising among the population on the prevention of infectious diseases.

In continuation of the topic, the head of state once again emphasized an extremely responsible and comprehensive approach to solving the problems of preventing the above-mentioned virus from entering our country.

Summing up and noting that care for the health and welfare of the people is a key policy priority, the President emphasized that due to the large-scale work, the timely actions and coordination of the services involved in the Turkmenistan, there was not a single case of dangerous infection with a coronavirus or suspected him.

Instructed to keep the issues discussed today under constant review and ensure a high organizational level of the preventive measures taken, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the meeting participants success in fulfilling their tasks.
