The center for branded transport services of Russian Railways (CBTS Russian Railways) has set a coefficient of 0.5 to the rates for the tariff for urea transit from Turkmenistan on Russian Railways. Last year, the index was 0.7 to the tariff rates.

According to the new tariff coefficient, which will be in effect during 2020, Russian Railways attracted the cargo of three Turkmen urea producers. From December last year to February 2020, they sent 9.7 thousand tons of products by rail to the Russian ports of the Azov-Black sea region, according to the publication "Гудок".

"The cargo is sent from Turkmenistan via Russian ports to the former CIS countries. Fares are set exclusively for loaded flights, but not for empty ones," Elena Anisimova, a leading technologist at the Russian Railways Central transport Agency, told the source.

The main suppliers of urea in Turkmenistan are three plants belonging to the state concern "Turkmenhimiya": "Tejenkarbamid", "Marykarbamid" and "Garabogazkarbamid". Transportation of petrochemical products from Turkmenistan to the countries of the near abroad and Europe is carried out by the Turkmen ES "Halkara Hyzmat".
