The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the 9th meeting of the EU-Central Asia working group on environment and climate change, which was held in Brussels, the website of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
The meeting was attended by specialists and experts in the field of environment, climate change and water resources in Central Asia and the European Union.
The conference was organized within the framework of the EU - Central Asia Platform for cooperation in the field of environment and water resources, which covers the following priority areas: environmental management, closed-cycle Economics, sustainable production and consumption, climate change and water resources management.
The conference participants discussed the progress made by the countries of the Central Asian region since 2015 in the field of environmental protection, climate change and water resources management in relation to the conclusions of the 6th EU - Central Asia high-level conference and the recommendations developed by the joint working group on environment and climate change.
Priorities for future cooperation between the EU and Central Asian countries on a wide range of issues related to the environment, climate change and water resources were identified during the exchange of views.
As a result of the meeting, the Program of the EU-Central Asia working group on environmental protection and climate change was adopted, and the terms of reference and work regulations were developed and approved.
