The head of “LUKOIL” said that it is ready to develop fields in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea

“LUKOIL” has strategic interests in Turkmenistan, which has significant reserves of hydrocarbon raw materials", the head of the Russian oil company Vagit Alikperov said today during a meeting in Ashgabat with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This is reported on the official website of “LUKOIL”.

According to the state news Agency of Turkmenistan, the businessman introduced the Turkmen leader to the activities of “LUKOIL” in the development of hydrocarbon fields in the Caspian Sea.

According to V. Alikperov, Turkmenistan has a favorable investment climate and an appropriate legal framework that allows for effective investment of large funds in the development of oil and gas fields and infrastructure construction. Therefore, the company he heads is interested in implementing projects in these areas.

Welcoming the initiatives of the Russian partners, the President of Turkmenistan suggested that the proposals available to both sides should be worked out jointly with the state concerns “Turkmennebit” and “Turkmengaz” and submitted for consideration.

"Turkmenistan is always open for productive interaction with foreign partners", - Berdimuhamedov said, noting the traditionally friendly and constructive nature of Turkmen-Russian relations. – "This creates favorable conditions for the activation of business relations, including in such an important area as the oil and gas industry – strategic for both countries, which are world energy powers and have impressive reserves of hydrocarbon resources."

At the end of the meeting, the head of state and his guest confirmed the readiness of Turkmenistan and “LUKOIL” to develop long-term mutually beneficial cooperation.
