Today, along the borders of the CIS States, a Victory Relay was launched from Murmansk from the site at the monument to "Arctic border Guards", dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945.
The program of the event included a solemn meeting, a speech by the leadership of the Border Department of the FSS of Russia in the Western Arctic region, representatives of the International public organization of veterans of the border service, and laying flowers at the memorial to the Defenders of the Soviet Arctic, reports nord-news.ru
The route is built along the external borders of the Commonwealth of independent States. In the border zone of each country, special relay groups have been prepared, which include representatives of the border service, veterans ' organizations and other public associations.
During the relay, solemn meetings, rallies, lessons of courage, round tables, exhibitions, and performances of artists will be organized.
The Victory relay will end on May 28 in Moscow at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier.
