The first hundreds of cars in January passed along the international railway line Kerki (Turkmenistan) — Ymamnazar-Akina (Iran). It was opened four years ago with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai.

Last year, trains consisting of a total of 7,405 cars passed along this highway, of which 1,540 cars are from neighboring countries, the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper reports.

Today the railroad in the “Garagum” desert reveals its great international potential. Kazakhstan flour and wheat are delivered to Afghanistan via a single link of the Kazakhstan — Turkmenistan — Iran railway. Consumer goods go from Uzbekistan to Iran. This is facilitated by the modern railway bridges Turkmenabat-Farab and Kerki-Kerkichi, which are laid across the Amyderya.

With regard to the export of goods through pipeline transported gasoline and diesel fuel produced at the Seyidi refinery.

The Kerki-Ymamnazar-Akin steel highway provides ample opportunities for effective implementation of transport and transit potential and active integration into the system of modern international economic relations.
