Belarus marks the anniversary year of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality

The meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus Nazarkuly Shakulyev with foreign students of the Belarusian State University was timed to the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the UN resolution "on permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan", the online edition reports turkmenistan.ru.

The meeting was also attended by the heads of the rectorate, faculties and international relations management.

3715 foreign students from more than 60 countries are studying at BSU, 891 of them are citizens of Turkmenistan.

Nazarkuly Shakuliyev spoke about an important historical event for Turkmenistan and the main aspects of the country's neutral status, which determined the strategic and political course of the state at all times. They also discussed the current state of Turkmenistan in the international arena. In particular, the emphasis was placed on the Turkmen-Belarusian cooperation based on a reliable model of bilateral relations.

The meeting also included speeches by BSU Vice-rector for academic Affairs and educational innovations Oksana Zdrok, Dean of the faculty of international relations Viktor Shadursky and columnist of the “Transport Bulletin” newspaper Tatyana Azarevich.

A series of diverse events under the motto "Turkmenistan is the homeland of neutrality" on the occasion of the anniversary of the Turkmen foreign policy status is planned in the Republic of Belarus throughout 2020.
