Turkmenistan has prepared a draft program for providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan for 2020-2022, Trend reports, citing the state news Agency of Turkmenistan.

This approach in the context of the peaceful development of Afghanistan was discussed at a meeting of the government of Turkmenistan. Official Ashgabat has repeatedly stated its readiness to provide its political space for conducting peace talks on Afghanistan.

In recent years, Afghanistan has received electricity from Turkmenistan at discounted prices via Imamnazar–Andhoy and Serkhetabat–Herat transmission lines and liquefied gas.
Recently for the supply of Turkmen electricity to Northern Afghanistan, commissioned border transmission line Rabatkashan-Kalainau.

Turkmenistan also supports the promotion of a number of regional projects involving Afghanistan, such as the construction of a railway to Tajikistan and a gas pipeline to Pakistan and India through Afghanistan.

The possibility of using Afghan transit for the supply of Turkmen electricity is being studied.
