Today, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan met with the head of the UNESCO Cluster office in Tehran, Svetan Svetkovsky.
During the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations educational, scientific and cultural Organization (UNESCO). In this regard, the sides stressed Turkmenistan's commitment to protecting national and global values and promoting dialogue between countries and peoples on the basis of cultural and humanitarian interaction. Summing up the results of cooperation over the past year, including the inclusion of the Turkmen traditional art of carpet weaving in the "Representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind", the parties discussed new proposals and programs for the current year.
Speaking about the uniqueness of the Turkmen culture and history, the guest also stressed the uniqueness of the permanent status of Neutrality of Turkmenistan, aimed at maintaining peace, mutual understanding and stability through the search for positive methods of cooperation. At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope for further development and strengthening of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO, the website of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
