Turkmenistan swimming Cup 2019 results summed up in Ashgabat

The results of the Turkmenistan swimming Cup have been summed up in Ashgabat, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports. About eight hundred athletes from all velayats of the country took part in the competitions organized by the Ministry of sports and youth policy of Turkmenistan and the water sports Federation of Turkmenistan. 42 sets of medals were awarded here.

The greatest number of awards of the highest dignity was won by a very young, but already quite experienced athlete, 14-year-old Anastasia Morginstern. The pupil of Mark Pilyugin finished first in the 50, 100, 200 and 800 meters’ freestyle, and also showed the best result in the 50-meter butterfly.

Another promising athlete Enesha Begmuradova showed the best results in the 50, 100, 200 meters’ backstroke and 400 meters in complex swimming. She also became the second in the heats at the distance of 50 meters’ breaststroke, where 4 seconds ahead of her Daria Semenova, and 800 meters’ freestyle. Daria, who finished with the best result in the 50-meter breaststroke, also won the 200-meter distance in the complex swimming.

Among the men who competed in freestyle, an interesting duel unfolded between Agadzhan Joraev and Nikita Baryshnikov. At a distance of 50 meters in the final Agajan beat Nikita by 0.13 seconds, although in the preliminary heat N. Baryshnikov showed the best result. In the 100-meter preliminary heat, Agajan, who was only in fourth place, improved his result by almost seven seconds in the final and finished first, beating Nikita by almost a second. But at a distance of 200 meters Nikita took revenge, ahead of A. Joraev by 0.44 seconds.

David Akobyan won two medals in the long distances of 800 and 1500 meters’ freestyle. David received a gold medal at the distance of 800 meters, but in the heat of 1500 meters – bronze. Over longer distances confidently won the warrior of Orazmuhamedov, ahead of nearest rival by almost 2.5 minutes.

The men in the butterfly style heats also had an interesting fight. For a short distance in 50-meter butterfly Nazim Kambarov took second place, losing Aziz Ballykov. In the sprint best result was shown by the Nazim, and Aziz Ballykov became the second. But in the 200-meter swim in complex swimming, Nazim also became the second, losing the "gold" this time to Eminguly Ballykov. Eminguly showed the second result in the 200-meter butterfly, where he won the warrior of Batyr Gandymov. 

Anastasia Kharkov, who finished first in the 100-and 200-meter butterfly events, excelled in women's events. The 400-meter swim is still the second result, and the 200-meter complex swim is the third result, as well as the 800-meter freestyle.

Berdiguly Saparov, a student of the Turkmen state Institute of physical culture and sports, had the best result in the 50-meter breaststroke, and Akmukhammet Charyev was second. In the 100-meter breaststroke again led B. Saparov, and A. Charyev took third place. In the 200-meter race in the same style, B. Saparov lost the first place to Akmukhammet Charyev.

Shahribossan Zhigalenkova won the 100 and 200 meters’ breaststroke, and Merdan Atayev, who has repeatedly shown good results on the international stage, became the best in the 100-meter backstroke. Both athletes are pupils of the honored coach of Turkmenistan Sergey Epifanov.

In February 2020, it is planned to send promising athletes to Armenia to participate in training camps, where they will try to improve their results.
