A telephone conversation took place today between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
The heads of the two friendly States exchanged congratulations on the upcoming New year, wishes of health and great success. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with great satisfaction noted that at the present time a constructive relationship based on the principles of good neighborliness and mutual understanding are becoming more dynamic and progressive in nature. In this regard, it was emphasized that regular contacts at the highest and intergovernmental levels serve as an effective mechanism for enhancing interaction, taking into account priority national and regional interests.
In the course of the conversation, stressing the importance of the humanitarian component of the partnership, the heads of state spoke in favor of deepening fruitful relations in this area.
During the telephone conversation, the parties also exchanged views on topical issues of regional and international issues of mutual interest. The two countries commitment to constructive cooperation within the framework of authoritative organizations, primarily the UN, CIS, and others, was confirmed.
The active position and initiative approach of Turkmenistan to the strengthening of economic and humanitarian ties within the Commonwealth, taking into account modern realities, were emphasized. It was noted that this year a number of important events were held under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan, including meetings of the Council of heads of government and the economic Council of the CIS, the Council of heads of States of the CIS, which were held in a constructive atmosphere, bringing significant results.
Having highly appreciated Turkmenistan's chairmanship in the Commonwealth of Independent States, the head of Kyrgyzstan once again expressed his gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the excellent organization of all the events held.
At the end of the telephone conversation, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Sooronbay Jeenbekov once again congratulated each other on the upcoming New year and wished the fraternal peoples of the two countries well-being and prosperity.
