Today, in the Yyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat, two representatives of the Italian Federation of Chefs Carmine Morgese and Luca Di Giovanni held a master class on cooking real and simple Italian dishes in the best gastronomic traditions under the brand name "Made in Italy". The event was organized by the Italian Embassy in Turkmenistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan in the framework of the IV Week of Italian cuisine that opened in Ashgabat today.

Chef Carmine Morgese is from Castellaneta (Province of Taranto, Italy). After five years of study at the Istituto Professionale Alberghiero, he worked in many areas of Italy. In 2018, together with his wife, he opened his own restaurant "Rosole Ristorante Italiano" on the coast of the Aegean Sea near Izmir (Turkey). His colleague Luca Di Giovanni was born in the region of Abruzzo (Italy), a graduate of the Culinary School of Niko Romito. After graduation, he worked in several restaurants in Europe, where he gained extensive experience to become a member of the "Eataly Istanbul" team, in which he is responsible for fish and snack restaurants.

Ashgabat residents took an active part in today's workshop. The master class program was distinguished by a variety of Italian dishes — such as risotto with saffron, beef rolls with cheese and baked onions, baked eggplant with tomato and parmesan, eclairs with pastry cream. The participants of the event got acquainted with the culture of Italian cuisine, interesting features of cooking, took part in a tasting of cooked gastronomic delights.

This initiative aims to demonstrate how to cook Italian dishes with ingredients that can also be found in Turkmenistan. These dishes are quite simple to prepare, so that they can be easily introduced into the daily diet of all Turkmen families.

The Italian Cuisine Week is part of a wider Italian government initiative to promote Italian culinary traditions and experiences. Similar weeks have passed in more than 140 different countries around the world. The main theme of the IV Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, held in Turkmenistan from November 24 to 27, 2019, is "Food education: the culture of taste".

The next master class, which will also be held in the Yyldyz hotel in Ashgabat, will be held on November 27 and will be devoted to cooking Italian minestrone, pumpkin pies, beef baked in puff pastry, and panna cotta with chocolate.
